In our practice in Pirmasens, we perform root canal treatments using a microscope and / or laser. The purpose of a root canal treatment (endodontics) is the bacteria-proof sealing of the tooth "up and down", i.e. at the root tip and towards the oral cavity.
The aim is to preserve your own teeth for as long as possible. By this professional procedure we reduce the costs, because for a very long time on the same tooth no further treatment is necessary.
Root canal treatment (treatment of the root canal) is performed when the following situations are present:
- Deep caries to the point of bacterial infiltration of the nerve.
- An injury (trauma) that has led to the death of the nerve
- An inflammation of the root tip (apical periodontitis)
- Prior to prosthetic restorations, when there is so little tooth hard tissue remaining that a post core build-up must be performed to improve leverage and retention
