In our practice, two modern laser systems are used as a gentle treatment alternative or to support conventional dental procedures.
Through this, we achieve a particularly high level of comfort for you in addition to the great treatment effectiveness. The lasers allow minimally invasive procedures, fewer sessions than conventional procedures and less pain.

Treatments by laser are used in our dental office for the following complaints and treatments:
If the gums need treatment, it is usually due to periodontitis (often colloquially referred to as periodontosis), one of the most common diseases of the gums and periodontium (the tooth bed). This disease is caused by bacteria on the surface of the teeth and the roots of the teeth and is often noticeable by redness and swelling of the gums, bad breath and bleeding gums are also possible. Later on, the formation of pockets in the gums often follows. Without proper treatment, bone is often lost as a result, and teeth can become loose and eventually fall out.
By using the laser to treat your gums, the bacteria can be eliminated very efficiently. The laser beams act on the cell walls of the bacteria, and they die as a result. Furthermore, this procedure can also effectively eliminate harmful viruses and fungi in the oral cavity. This is done particularly gently and is also possible, for example, in people with blood clotting disorders.
Bacteria in deep gum pockets and other areas of soft tissue can also be removed effectively and gently with the help of laser treatment.
With the help of the dental lasers that we use at Pirmadent, it is also possible to treat aphthae. Aphtae are painful mucosal defects that often cause pain and other discomfort (for example, when eating) and that occur repeatedly in some people. They are often located in soft tissues, for example in the palate.
Laser treatment of aphthae is performed by ablating the surface of the aphthae and takes only a few minutes. A slight encrustation then forms on the treated area, but this does not usually cause any discomfort and only lasts a few days.
Desensitization is the reduction of hypersensitivity. For example, if your teeth react very strongly to cold or heat, laser treatment can provide relief.
In our dental practice in Pirmasens, we also use laser treatments to desensitize your teeth. A special laser can be used to ablate the fine nerve endings in the dentin (the tooth bone). This can specifically interrupt the pain stimulus so that the reaction to heat or cold stimuli is reduced.
Teeth with inflammation in the root area very often had to be removed in the past. Today, there are gentle, tooth-preserving alternatives in many cases. Laser treatment can also provide support in this context. The root canals are then cleared of bacteria with the help of the laser. This is done very gently and is usually even possible if there is more severe inflammation.
As described above, a wide variety of germs and pathogens can be effectively eliminated with our state-of-the-art laser equipment. This makes our high-quality technical equipment a clear advantage of your visit to Pirmadent, your dental practice in Pirmasens. If laser treatment is an option for you, we will explain all the steps in detail.
One of the most common diseases of the dental bed is periodontitis, a chronic inflammation of the dental bed. In people from the age of about 35, this disease is the most common reason for tooth loss. The laser also assists in this area. We remove deposits from the roots of the teeth in the first step, and then use the laser to remove bacteria in the next step.
In this way, bacteria that are located inside the tooth pockets and / or that have already invaded the soft tissue can be removed.
The removal of germs is an important support when the teeth or the surrounding tissue are diseased or inflamed. The laser eliminates the germs particularly gently and comprehensively. This allows the healing process to proceed as smoothly as possible.
We will be happy to discuss whether such a treatment is suitable for you - tailored to your complaints and your individual state of health.
